Snapshot Sunday

Apparently the little boys aren't taking as many usable photos of late.  I'll have to ask them to work on that!

James and I enjoyed a trip into Chicago to celebrate our anniversary early.  We enjoyed an amazing dinner and show.  And a lot of quiet!  It was a great trip that we definitely needed before the semester started.

Then, we came home and tackled a rather large project.  We pulled plants, mowed down and then mulched the beds around the back of the house.  We put down cardboard first and then a bunch of grass clippings that Michael was kind enough to dump on while mowing.

We started around the corner, but didn't get all the way.  Next, we have to clean up next to the house and continue going through the thistles and the front of the house.  It was hard work, but nothing a little family party couldn't fix!  Food really does fix everything for boys, and I love that!

I haven't taken any pictures lately, but the garden is doing well.  We will get our first zucchini tomorrow, which is very exciting!  And we got to eat our first corn from our garden today.  Yay!  I can't believe our corn survived, but it did and it tastes amazing!  We have been blessed through all of the rain and storms and are grateful for it!  We even got our roof fixed and didn't have to use our insurance because it was such a small repair.  Phew!  Now back to school work and canning!  I love this time of year!
