Snapshot Saturday

Thanks Jodi for keeping our Photo Friday going strong.  I'm the backup singer, but I always seem to come in late.
Hyrum has now figured out how to load the guns.  But for now I get to shoot them and he chases them.  Great fun is had by all!

James has been having fun finding creative ways to plant our herbs on the porch.  He's not done, but he is off to a great start!

We planted some berry bushes!  How exciting!

Some friends are moving and had some supplies they were getting rid of.  This will make up our chicken run.  Hopefully that will be up soon because those chicks are getting big!

The chickens, which are getting quite large, needed a bigger house with a lid, so they would quit getting out.  Hyrum loves going out to visit the chicks as often as possible.  They seem to get along together which is great!
Michael and Joshua covered this gate, so the deer cannot get in.  It isn't bad for their first time.  And hopefully they will learn to work together better in the future!  Practice makes perfect!

Little Purple Flowers

Dad is out mowing the lawn.  A few minutes ago, he stopped and walked in the front door and handed me these little purple flowers.  I know they have a name, but it's not at the top of my noggin' right now.  Anyway, when he handed them to me he said, "Do you remember these little flowers all around Grandpa Hutchings' yard?  I used to pick them for my mom all the time.  Grandma Hutchings planted them."  (That's his grandma and grandpa).  Just thought I would share that sweet moment.  :)

Thought I should post as I have not for a while.

Yes I took a selfie while strawberry picking. I am soooooo ashamed.....

Photo Friday

Here are some fun pictures from the week!  Enjoy!
Last weekend we had fun buying some fruit trees, berry plants and much more!

Then, it snowed on Monday.  :(  We think everything made it except a few flowers.  Hopefully they will come back next year.

Then, it warmed back up and we cleaned out the chicken box.  I love this picture because Jacob is chasing a chick around while Hyrum chases him around.  Adorable!

I was impressed by how easily the boys collected the chicks back up and put them back into their box.

Before school one day the boys wanted me to take their picture, so they posed, and here you go!   They are awesome!

Dad's New Desk

Dad wanted to share his new toy with all of you.  So, here it is.  A nice HUGE desk (the bedroom door won't open all the way), but he doesn't care.

Photo Friday

Here are some fun photos for the week.   Enjoy!

The boys were very helpful putting up the fence this week.  They helped with cement, hammering, unrolling wire and much more.  It was a great experience for all.

James sanded and oiled our countertop on my birthday.  It is beautiful again.  Thank you!

Hyrum has learned how fun it is to play in daddy's truck.  Lucky daddy!

It was hard to get him to stop playing to look at me, but this cute look couldn't go unblogged.

Ava in the outfit her Aunt Juliana gave to her.

One of my "new looks." I'll probably blog about it when
"the look" is completed. Hair cut tomorrow! AHHH!

Split Pea Soup. It's what's for breakfast. At least for me.
Because I'm obsessed with Split Pea Soup.

Cherry Blossom Time in D.C.

Yesterday, as my reward for spending the day with Dad on sales calls, he drove me through downtown D.C. to see the cherry blossoms.  He didn't even tell me, he just did it!  Those cherry blossoms really are beautiful.  We did this the spring before we moved here (with Marquie), but haven't been back since.  Lots of people, lots of automobiles and lots of beautiful trees.
They lined the the Tidal Basin near the Jefferson Memorial

Photo Friday

Here are some photos from our last week.  I'm trying to do better at taking photos.  :)

Our neighbor kindly came over and plowed up our field for our new garden area.  Yippee!

Here is a picture of the garden area not in the dark.   Soon there will be green out there!

Hyrum needs entertainment during school time.  His toy of the week is duplos, so, we bring up the toys and get to work!

Joshua and Jacob enjoy entertaining Hyrum during school time.  This is good and bad.  :)

Joshua's great creation that he wanted to share with everyone.

Hyrum liked hugging Joshua's creation.  It is nice that entertaining Hyrum can be done so simply.

Nursing...right now, sitting in a parking lot  after our Friday playdate with cousins. Oh, and the kids are watching a movie above my head. That's why they look so focussed.
