Snapshot Saturday

This was a cold week, but we still had fun and enjoyed an exciting end to a fun basketball season.

It was colder this week than we liked, but the icicles were pretty!

Michael and I went to a stake fireside, and well, it never ceases to amaze me how many cookies he can eat.

Hyrum is just adorable between his animals, blankets and now his baseball hats.  :)

I didn't take very many pictures, so someone took this one for me.

Photo Friday

Making a double stroller into a triple out of necessity.
"Are these noodle seeds?" she asked. Fair assessment.
We have to keep the chairs on top of or away from the table
because Ava cannot resist scaling them to get to the table top.
This means sometimes, okay a lot, I don't want to deal with
getting them down for breakfast, okay a lot of meals.
She put her foot in the air so someone would brush the crumbs
off of it. It was such a sweet sister interaction.
Cousin time! My girls have been dying to have a playdate with their nearby cousins
for quite some time. Family of 3 girls + family of 3 girls = 6 girls 6yrs and under!

Family Photos

Grandma and Grandpa Workman called me and asked me to dish out as many portrait pictures of y'all that I had (most recent ones, of course). She's trying to update her grandkid photo wall. So I sold you all out and gave her everything I had :). Here are the ones I turned over, for your knowledge (and I know ours is the ONLY one that isn't portrait, okay, boo.)

By the way, I love that I was the go-to for obtaining these pictures. Thank you for letting me be your photographer, take your pictures and share the beauty of these memories with you.
Also, this is a public notice to those of you whose photos I provided are out-of-date and/or are missing new family members. If you would like Grandma & Grandpa's photo wall to be accurate, please provide a portrait photo of your family to them.

Love you. And your beautiful faces.

China Adventures

Greetings all! I am four days into my China trip, and in my third hotel (fourth if you count spending a night on the airplane). I am hopping all around China! I started in Beijing, then moved to Shenzhen (at the very southern end of Mainland China), WALKED into Hong Kong, and am here for a few days before heading back to Beijing, and eventually Qingdao.

I haven't taken many photos yet, but here are a few:

Alaska. I will go there someday to explore the amazing things it holds. The snowy mountains are beautiful. The only time I have been in Alaska was on the way to my mission. If you don't know the story: We were 5 hours into our flight, over halfway to our first stop in Japan. An individual on the flight began having severe seizures, for which the flight crew decided to turn back to Anchorage to seek medical attention for the man. Due to flying restrictions, we had to stay in Anchorage for 24 hours. I just remember it being cold. The skies were clear, but there were mountains of snow on the roads (was the end of March). We continued to Japan, but arrived after the noise curfew had gone into effect, so we stayed a night in Japan before finally making our way to Taiwan... three days late. Was a small adventure to start an even greater one!

One shot of the perpetual sunset I enjoyed for 10 hours on my flight to Beijing. You all know how much I love sunsets, so you know how wonderful this was for me. The sun was setting when we took off, it disappeared from the horizon, then reappeared as we pushed further north, then set again as we turned south again into China (pictured above). Having the sky lit helped me stay awake for the flight, and adjust to the new time zone.

Walking into Hong Kong. I remember the tails of Dad going to Hong Kong when I was little, and then again periodically for the Rugby Sevens. It was always a mystical place in my mind. Now I get to be here for myself!

Not a bad view from the hotel. We are staying in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island (left and bottom of the picture). Hoping to get out and explore a little while we are here before heading back to the Mainland tomorrow night.

Snapshot Saturday

I was very good at taking pictures this week, which was a pleasant surprise.  I hope you enjoy!

Hyrum and Simon were playing with each other through the window.  It was super cute!
We started our first garbage burning fire.  It was great fun.  And now my storage room is much cleaner!

I think they all enjoyed this quite a bit.

We had great fun at the library this week.  Hyrum LOVES the puzzles, but that is to be expected.

Jacob built an art museum and dinosaur museum.  I guess you an tell we have been discussing  museums and zoos while on vacation.

I made this big breakfast of potatoes, eggs, bacon, peppers, etc and was just in awe at how much food it was.  It was yummy, though!  A breakfast of champions!

Simon's first haircut.  I hate it because he doesn't look like my baby.  But he is still adorable!

We went to the children's museum and I barely saw Hyrum.  He was running around and playing the whole time, so I didn't get a single picture of him.  But I followed Simon around and we had a great time together.

This little man will be walking soon.  The boys messed up his little toy, but he can still push it around, and that was the point!

Well, there you go!  We had a lot of fun this week!  I didn't get any pictures of their basketball games, but both Jacob and Michael scored, so we had lots of excited boys!  Michael is getting pretty good.  It helps that he is about 6 feet tall.

Ava's beauty, and Ava being Ava.
The pie party we had with friends.
It was a pie sing along party and Justin totally rocked "Let it Go."
It got warm enough to break out the kiddie pool. The girls were overjoyed.
I got a summer dress for Jaime at H&M. She tried it on and we
took this photo for Justin to see it. Looking at it makes me feel
like she's growing up so much.
Vida! She gets comments even from strangers about how she can
touch her nose with her tongue because she's always doing it!

For Those Who Remembered the Low Water Pressure

... And even those who didn't experience it.  The problem was solved, not cheep, but we had wonderful showers this morning.  They pulled the pump, found two pipes with holes in them and a third with a crack that was getting ready to go through.  New pipe in the entire well.  660 feet of it.

This is the replacement pipe going in after a full well, pipe, pump and wire inspection.

Old pipe in the back, Power cord in the center, new pipe on the left.

Pineapple!

Our first  pineapple. We are super excited!  I love this place.

Snapshot Saturday

We had a lot of fun in Virginia with mom and dad.  I even took a few pictures.  :)

We stopped by the DC temple on the way to visit Sarah Johnson Mueller.  Yes, the deliverer of the address.  The boys thought it was awesome to have a face to put with the name in the story.

We drove into the zoo, but had to drive by the monuments just for fun.

At the zoo we borrowed mom's little monkey backpack for Hyrum.  It was FABULOUS!  I just followed Hyrum around, so he had fun and freedom, but I didn't have to worry about losing him.

There were quite a few lions.  They were pretty awesome!  The warm weather made this a fun trip because we weren't freezing, and the animals weren't hiding!

Hyrum loved the entire zoo!

The panda's were wonderful.  This little guy had fun playing with that pot.  Adorable!

Hyrum loved the fake animals as well as the real ones.  He kept asking the animals to come play with him and these ones actually did.  ;)  He may have told the big Ape that he was on time out at one point because he sat and folded his arms.  It was adorable!

Lots of fun playing on the statues!

The boys loved that the animals could roam freely in the Amazon.  This spoonbill was quite friendly!

Hyrum loved pushing Simon around on this little car.  They had a lot of fun together!
After our fun in Virginia we came home to wonderful weather!  Yippee!  And then we had a really fun Pi Party!  I know I am a super nerd, but I just can't help it.  I love sharing my knowledge with young minds.  I didn't take many pictures because I was running it, but here is a fun picture of the pie after the kids had at it.  :)

Hyrum loves this weather and playing outside.  I took one pictures and then he proceeded to move around the swings telling me to take more pictures.  :)

It is hard to take a picture when he is running up and down the slide.

It was a great week, and the weather promises to stay nice! I hope you are all having a great week!
