Snapshot Sunday

Well, we are all obviously on top of it this week.  Here are some fun photos from the week.

Joshua was having fun making balloon creations.  Hyrum may have enjoyed it more than Joshua.

My beautiful head of cabbage that I saved before the cabbage worms attacked.  I am spraying them and determined to kill them!

Cabbage and gnocchi was amazing!  That one head of cabbage served its purpose well.

Someone may have found strawberries for 59¢ per pound and bought way too many.  Thanks to my great husband we made and canned a 21 pints.  Wowzers!

Hyrum loves having his picture taken.  I love it!

Simon really likes to get around during church.  I actually thought he was stuck but by the time I got my phone out he was almost out.  Yea, I know I should have been helping, but he wasn't upset, so taking a picture was the right thing to do.
Even though our garden is drowning we did enjoy some peas, broccoli and cabbage.  Now we just need to keep praying for the rest of it that is under water.  Zucchini can swim, right?  We shall just have to wait and see.  Love you all!

Some stuff

Our lives have been quite un-photo worthy this week, unless you'd like to see the standing water in our garden? I didn't think so. Here are a few tidbits designed to both delight and make sure we don't stop posting. Although, our texts have become delightfully descriptive, haven't they?

Somebody got a hold of a marker. He got to clean it up and enjoyed every second.

I did some much needed finish work on the master bathroom. The ledge is weathered wood that actually weathered right in our driveway. And, I finally mastered the art of making a picture frame so that I could frame our mirror. It's routed, mitered, and clipped right in place! That is actual red-washed barn wood I took off a barn with my own bare hands.

So there you go. I had a video of Hyrum catching a beanbag that is too cute for words but it won't upload. Oh well. I'll have to text it!

Snapshot Saturday

Ava at church. She tried to play the piano with the pianist in RS so much I just left. Nursery in 1 week 1 day. Can't wait.

Mowing the lawn in the heat of the day. Justin thinks it's funny that I'm proud of my sweat rings :)

A stop on our walk on the river trail.

Last stop before heading home from our walk that day.

Friday playdate at Michelle's! I love these.

Guy time

While Liz was having a "work retreat" (play date) with some colleagues, it was all guys here on the homestead.
We put together a new feeder for the pigs and the boys delivered it all by themselves. It's fun/sad to see them so grown up.

Even the pigs are tired of the mud. So much mud; everywhere we look it's just mud, mud, mud.

Someone fell in.

We had quiche. Hallelujah, amen.

Our rhubarb and berries that made jam this morning. I even used Great Grandma's chinois to get the currant seeds out. All of these came from our own land--we planted everything except the black raspberries--those came from the woods. I'm guessing we'll have mulberries en mass tomorrow and for a couple weeks.

Snapshot Saturday

It is always fun for me to review the week via my photos.  I am always amazed by the many things we do each week!

Hryum loves going out and feeding the pigs grass.  They are pretty fun even if they are covered in mud  and their pen is a mess because of the rain.
We had fun celebrating Hyrum's birthday.  Birthdays are so simple at this age!

The littles and I had fun out swinging.  This is the first time we've had a play set, and I love it!

Our broccoli is amazing!  And it tastes good, too!

We had lots of fun at the dentist.  No cavities and we were out in less than an hour!

Simon even had fun running around the dentist moving books and playing with anything he could get his hands on.

Our internet was out, so I needed a little extra time at the library.  It gave Jacob plenty of time to build a castle!

Photo Friday!!

He crawled up there all by himself. Well, with assistance from my leg.
Then he proceeded to crawl along the windowsill until there was no more couch.

We've had some late nights...

Yesterday we went to a beautiful sealing for Patrick's cousin.
Here's our selfie before our grocery trip in between the sealing and luncheon.

And this is David's selfie. Poor kid. All his naps were about 20 minutes in the car.

And last but not least, he doesn't just climb up the couch to the window. He climbs up the stairs! All by himself. Really. Just me freaking out behind him ready to catch him. Good thing we don't have any stairs.

Photo Friday

I texted Justin to come home and kiss his princess.
Vida in curlers.
So, we've being having major drama with Vida's hair. She's got those beautiful, perfect ringlet curls, right? Right?? Well I heat damaged my sweet 3 year old's hair. Blowdried and straightened it right out of a bath and bam, I couldn't get it to go curly again. I was devistated. For the last two nights we've slathered it in conditioner and coconut oil, rolled it into tight curlers, and wrapped her head with a soft cloth to sleep in. I think it's helping but the tips still look pretty damaged. We will probably have to get the tips trimmed off. I'm so bummed, but glad at least some of it is curling again.
At the park having Mom & Me time.
She was so excited to try on her floaties and "crown."
