Well, just returned from the Orthopedic Surgeon to get the cast off. Oops! It was already off! The doctor was impressed that I was able to get it off and that it only took a few minutes. He kinda smiled about it.
The report, well, all is well. Bone is healed very well and the bones and ligaments in the wrist, where his greatest concern centered, seem to all be doing very well. We are blessed and grateful for your faith and prayers in our behalf.
Picture, well, I guess that while the break and cast did slow me down, I didn't let it stop me. Playing the piano was hard but I still played when I could. Reminds me of when I was seven years old and played the Christmas Recital with a 3/4 cast. I often go into the chapel after difficult meetings or interviews and play hymns. Again, I missed being able to comfortably play and grateful I can again do this.
The family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

Enough is Enough
They say a picture is worth a thousand words...
That was then, October 25, 12 days after break.
This is now, December 8, eight weeks after break.

Family Ever After, the Book
I just wanted to let you all know that I have very much been enjoying reading and helping edit Michelle's new book! It is AWESOME. I have loved reading the stories you've all added, and it is kind of weird to read about myself in a real BOOK. Can't wait until March!
Love you guys!

And the 1st turns 12
That's right, the first grandchild has turned 12. I wanted to share our new tradition for this very special birthday. Last Saturday, we woke April at 6 am, packed her in the car and headed out. No, we didn't go far. We hit a sale at Kohls and spent a few hours, just Mom, Dad, and April, trying on clothes. Finally, she found the perfect outfit for her first temple trip. Yep, I said it. FIRST TEMPLE TRIP! All our children, at the age of 12, will get a day with the parents to find a new dress or suit for the temple. This was exciting, because she doesn't really ever go shopping. I am happy to report, it was modest and super cute. I will be sure to take a picture at the temple on the 22nd. Happy birthday to me!
She had her interview last week and officially became a temple recommend holder. She has her own, so she can do baptisms while in Utah over Christmas!
This is one of those times you breath a happy sigh and say, "I must be doing ok."

27 Years
27 years ago today I signed on with United Airlines. As a family we have been greatly blessed by this road (flight) our Heavenly Father blessed us with. I remember we had great plans to travel all over until we were hit with the reality of cost. None-the-less, we have all had some travel experiences and more than that, we have lived in some wonderful places and grew as a family.
Thank you for sharing the journey with me.

Photo Friday - My Office
As you all know I have been on a ten week special assignment since January. Maybe they said month...? My memory fades...
None-the-less, in September a major change in direction was undertaken and we delayed, again, the new technology but determined to migrate to the United Technology which will be a great decision. Today, December 1, 2012, has been touted as the "go live" date. However, go live was actually the first flight on the actual December 1, which was a flight from Guam at 15:00 central.
The good things from this? First, United will have only one operating system and customers will be much happier. Second. I packed up my room and am moving home!!! Even though I will be back for the next seven days, I will be home soon and Mom is happy with this, well I hope so!

The picture is our command center and our count-down. So far, so good.
Just another look at all of use crammed into the conference room. The good things from this? First, United will have only one operating system and customers will be much happier. Second.
