Coming Soon...!!!!!
I received a contract today from FAMILIUS a publishing company whose goal is to "make families happy." They liked my ideas and first copy of an outline. Deadline for my book...August 1st (my anniversary)! I'm really writing a book that might make a difference in someone's life (maybe just my own but we're going for a broader audience). Everyone...go eat a bowl of ice cream and celebrate with me! Yeah!!!!

New Design
In honor of our fast-approaching family event, I opted for a new template. Pretty great that they had lanterns in these colours, eh? Very bright!

Wish I Coulld Be There - Information Lost Sorry
Today an era ends. One that began decades ago. That of a reusable space vehicle. Today, Discovery lands at Washington Dulles International Airport and will head for the museum.
Alas, I am in Chicago. Why do I wish I could be there? Because I was there in February 1977, the beginning, when the first space shuttle, Enterprise, left the hanger on a truck and headed to Edwards Airforce Base in Antelope Valley California to be paired to the 747 in the picture for initial flight testing (Retired American 747, modified with winglets on the tail and of course the structure to hold the shuttle). Enterprise never went into space but filled the role of test aircraft very well. You will see on the back of Discovery a special cover over the engines. This cover enhances the aerodynamics and makes it easier and safer to fly on the 747).

Theatre and Life
I think the idea of a dress rehearsal is awesome. I mean, how often do you get to try something out, give it your all, and then have another chance just to make sure it's as good as it can be? Not often, I say.
As I was pondering on the great opportunity of the rehearsal, I realized that every day of our lives is like a dress rehearsal. Every day we're striving to make it absolutely perfect, but, ultimately, it won't be. Luckily, our life's tomorrows are not opening night; they are simply another dress rehearsal. One day our works will be laid open and we'll be openly judged, but until that day, I'm going to keep enjoying my cycle of do overs. I take notes on what went well and what needs to be improved, and then the next day I try to incorporate those changes into the things that I do and hope that things go better, look better, feel better. The idea also incorporates beautifully in Pres. Packer's allegory of the 3 act play. Boo-yah. Theatre metaphors make the world go round (this week.)
So, there are my thoughts. Can you tell that my life currently revolves around a single, rather theatrical point? Tonight's our dress rehearsal and tomorrow is our opening. I wish you could all be here for my first fully produced show, but I know you're doing great things where you are. I love you and miss you!
