Empty, Empty Nest
After 30 years of having our children in our home, our sweet last daughter just left home for college. Yup, there are tears running down my face.

Just thought you should know

"I am curious as to how much genetics plays a part in the homeschoolers’ above average performance. The homeschoolers get more than an eduction from their parents, they get their genes. A parent willing to teach their children at home shows above average motivation and intellectual confidence. Also, the family would have to survive off one income so the bread winner probably succeeded in higher education. I think the average homeschooler started life with an above average intellect."

Y Mountain
This morning James, Marquie and I trekked "Y" Mountain. It was their first time, and it was a great morning hike. Here are a few images from our early morning adventure.
The sunrise over Utah Lake was magnificent this morning. The sun rays coming through the clouds was tough to catch, but it came through.
Marquie sitting proud on the mountain letter representing her new school. May she come many times more and make great memories here!
It was a great morning exercise for me!
James looking his usual self...great!
Sibling adventures are so fun. And we look good for having started our hike at 6:00 a.m.!

Home Again
Well, we spent all morning getting ready to leave for Utah and here we are at home, again. United canceled the noon flight today, so didn't get to even leave Dulles. Dad bought a ticket to go to Chicago (for business)and decided since we wouldn't get to the wedding, he might as well go start his new job tonight. (If you don't know about that, call.) We are sad we will not be in Utah to join with the Sheppards, but, we will try again another day. Probably not before Thursday.
repeat
So this morning, I dumped my suitcase into the washer, only to go pack it all back up when they are done washing. I mean, I got home late Saturday, so I didn't wash them then, Only thing is, this is, I believe the 3rd time in 2 weeks! I packed up my cute little bag for Youth Conference Wednesday night, came home late Saturday, dumped out my bag into the washer Monday, and repacked it only to leave on Tuesday for IL. That was great fun, though. I stayed with Heather alllll week, which I have NEVER done. We worked like madwomen on my Personal Progress, and I am proud to say,... I. am almost done. :) I will be finishing it before I head off to that great unknown they call college. Whatever that is. I also got to go to Chicago the next Monday with my friends, and Tuesday night Heather took me to the Sheraton? to meet Dad so I could have dinner with him. We went to Pappadeaux, and had some calamari and Delicious Salmon. :) Then I came home Wednesday morning, got home about 1, (drove home all by my lonesome from the airport), dumped out my suitcase into the washer, packed it back up, packed up another one for college, and left about 7:30 with Mary to go have fun with her for 3 days. Then I came home Saturday night, slept in my own bed, (ahhhh, wonderful), went to church, (I was afraid I was gonna to have to go to RS by myself, but my friend Amanda came home so I didn't have to, yayyyy!), and now it is Monday morning and I am waiting for my clothes to wash. So I can pack up EVERYTHING!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! and that's all for now. love you. :)
