Almost like a fairy tale

I'm not quite sure what to write as words seem always to be inadequate in bringing forth the expressions locked away deep in our hearts. Yes, I know that sounds cheesy, but again, words? Heather has been asking questions...questions that I answered her, but have not shared with all. No, don't worry, I have no grand announcement to make. I wish only to tell you about Jodi. I want you to get to know her as I feel there is much reason for you to.

Jodi is from Southern California, the Huntington Beach area. She was born in Florida, but due to the nature of her father's work (former member of the U.S. Coastguard), she has been moved to many places around the country. She is 19 years old, turning 20 in a few days. Jodi has found a love for understanding people and why they do the things they do, and consequently is studying sociology, with a minor (possible double major) in Home and Family Living. She is a first semester junior, just as I am. That is for the academics. Now on to her! Jodi has a passion for singing, and she can sing. Oh, and if I didn't mention, she sings like an angel. Yeah, she can sing. She is tender and caring, especially with children. She has drive and ambition which have driven her to accomplish great things already in her life and which will continue to carry her to great heights. There is light in her eyes that reflects the great love she has for the Savior and Heavenly Father. She can cook, too, especially desserts (she made swan-shaped cream puffs yesterday for our dinner with Bryce and Michelle).

I have written only a little, as there is so much more to tell you about Jodi. These are only a tiny bit of who she is. Stay posted.

The Escapades of Gimpy and Glum

Well, as you all know, we had a lovely snow day yesterday. And, since we had the whole day, we decided we should go to lunch. Well, going to lunch was not an option with 8 inches of snow on the driveway so....

we very beautifully shoveled half of the driveway .....then..........

Marquie took us to Panera for a delicious lunch of soup, sandwich and salad...

After which Heather and group joined us...and we found some great sales at JCPenney

(and Heather got a cute makeover)

....then...

Joe came by, just to clean off the rest of the driveway and to take the kids home. (It's so hard to get a picture of Joe).

Heather and Marquie went to New Beginnnings in Woodstock, then we (Mom and "the hotties"; for more info, you'll have to ask) joined again for dinner at a little Italian restaurant in McHenry.

Then a stop at JCPenney, again, for a Marquie makeover. We finished up our evening with recorded episodes of Monk and Psych. All in all...not a bad snow day!!! We hope you enjoyed our snow day with us!

Snow People!

Liz has meetings all weekend for her new job, so it's just us boys around here.  I know, sounds smelly, doesn't it?  Well, the dishes are all done, and the boys are in their jammies, so while they are enjoying Underdog, I'm going to post this photo of our snowman we made during our earlier boy time.  The snow was kind of crunchy, so we couldn't roll it.  I think we came up with a delightful solution involving a plastic tub, the snow from off the sidewalk, a baby carrot, 4 craisins, 2 sticks and a scarf.  Happy Friday!

Gotta Love this Photo Friday

SNOW

So, here I am, once again, sitting in front of the computer. It is really snowy today and lots of fun, by the way, Marquie is napping, already.

How is it that snow makes you feel peaceful? Is it because it covers up all the dead and ugly and coats everything in a blanket of clean, fluffy white? Or, is it because you feel so cozy all snug in your home when you can't possibly go anywhere else? (Although, they did just barely come through with the plow.) I hope you enjoy Marquie's crafty snow pictures. I asked her to take pictures so I could post them. This is her version of our lovely snow storm. (I tried to get these pictures side by side, but I have no idea how to do that!)

me. today...

Hey Everyone! This is me, at 7:15 Friday morning after the bus DIDN'T come because we DON'T have school. And I DIDN'T know. Mom checked, I checked, at about 7:10, I decided to check again. Sure enough, No School Friday February 1--Due to Weather. (see mom's later post...it will come sometime today.) So, I curled my hair, and I looked SO cute with my completely FAB shirt, and I didn't even get to go to school. Today wasn't going to be that bad, either! And, I was going to watch "Ratatouille" after school. Poo Poo. Well, oh well! Less homework for the weekend. Hope everyone else's Friday is fantabulous! I look forward to seeing your pictures, you know, seems I will be able to check, like, EVERY 10 MINUTES!!!! So don't disappoint me. Justin, I loved yours. She's cute. (DUH!) Love you all! and by the way, if you click on the picture, it gets really big and looks so cute!

PHOTO FRIDAY!

A few people were just too anxious to wait for Friday, but I suppose we can forgive that this time.  Let's see something old, something new, something silly, something true!
